The invention relates to a lathe tool with an inclined tangential edge, adjustable in value, intended for turning external cylindrical surfaces, to the corresponding process and to the specific removable insert. The tool consists of a parallelepiped body pierced by a conical bore, or only cylindrical, in which it is fixed (by friction) to the desired inclination of the support body of the removable insert. Its edge, straight and of long length, is contained in a plane tangent to the surface to be machined and inclined to the plane determined by the axis of the workpiece and the point of tangency between the active edge of the insert and the workpiece.
