A high-entropy alloy comprises an iron-molybdenum-tantalum-titanium-zirconium metallic system comprising 9.5-12.5 wt.% iron, 19-22 wt.% molybdenum, 36-40 wt.% tantalum, 9-11.5 wt.% titanium and 18-21 wt.% zirconium. The alloy has a density of 10.8-12 kg/dm3, a melting temperature of 2300-2400 degrees C and an associated hardness of 800 HV0.5.
