Sudden braking can endanger road safety, especially at high speeds. New and more modern cars have signaling that shows the driver behind that the vehicle in front of him has stopped suddenly. This the innovation gives older cars the ability to signal when they start to brake suddenly so that other drivers behind them can see and react to the sudden braking in time.
