The innovation is a didactic aid in the teaching of vocational subjects, the profession of mechatronics engineer. With the help of the elevator model, students learn about the basics of elevator operation, its electric drives, sensors, as well as how to program the programmable logic controller (PLC) that controls the operation of the elevator. The components of the elevator model are made by 3D printing, and the PLC and other supporting circuitry are placed in a wooden box on which the controls for managing the operation of the elevator model are located.
