The mechanical properties of soils, especially clay soils, are of particular importance for construction, where they are used when designing adequate foundations for buildings. For this reason, the test method used to determine these properties is precisely standardized and is carried out in every geotechnical laboratory in the world. This Apparatus enables great savings in human labor and time invested in performing an oedometer test in accordance with norms and improving the quality of the results. The experiment itself consists of applying a certain number of load increments to the soil sample and maintaining it at each stage until the criteria for continuation are met, which was traditionally done by manually changing the weights that pressed the sample with their weight over the lever, and by manually recording the measured deformation during the entire duration of the experiment. which is an average of a week.
