This paper presents and describes the operation and application of the GPS system, a technology that is used to determine the exact position anywhere on Earth. The GPS system plays a key role in navigation, geographic mapping, vehicle tracking, security systems, and many other applications. A simple GPS receiver on a microcontroller is built within the practical part of the paper. It collects data coming from the GPS module and then displays the location on an LCD screen.
