The measuring system is primarily intended for the measurement and analysis of electrical power and energy parameters of machines used in the manufacture of clothing and technical textiles. The system incorporates synchronized measuring elements for measuring the voltage and current of each phase, together with measuring amplifiers, as well as the rotational speed of the machine main shaft and the position of the machine actuator. It also enables the acquisition of other measured quantities whose signals are transmitted to an A/D converter and subsequently stored and processed by a computer. This configuration enables simultaneous measurement and analysis of the processing parameters of sewing-machine drive systems and other parameters associated with the performance of technological sewing operations, as well as investigations into workstation design efficiency, working methods, and ergonomic indicators. The computer is used for data acquisition and storage, display of measurement results, and analysis of the stored data. Subsequent analysis of the acquired data, using numerical methods, particularly numerical integration, enables electrical energy consumption to be calculated over very short time intervals. This makes it possible, for example, to separately analyse very short phases of acceleration and deceleration of the machine main shaft, determine electrical power and energy parameters during the formation of seams of different lengths and with different numbers of interruptions, and determine the effects of stitch length, material thickness, number of material layers, seam type, and auxiliary devices used on sewing machines. Such detailed analyses could not previously be performed using conventional measurement methods in garment engineering.
