The innovation involves the design and fabrication of a functional prototype of a semi-active automotive suspension system that adjusts the damping coefficient in real time based on road conditions. The system relies on the magnetorheological effect, whereby the viscosity of the fluid within the shock absorber changes instantaneously under the influence of a controlled magnetic field. By integrating a sensor assembly and microcomputer-based control, the developed system successfully detects road irregularities (bumps and potholes) and adjusts suspension stiffness within milliseconds.

The successfully tested prototype demonstrates the solution’s key advantages: extremely rapid response, minimal energy consumption, and the high reliability of a mechanically simple design. The project directly contributes to enhanced safety, stability, and driving comfort. The advanced control electronics are optimized for potential integration into modern commercial vehicles and specialized transport systems.
