Presented extraction tool eliminates any kind of mechanical damage and bending of the probe upon finishing soil gas measurements and relocation to another measurement point. Furthermore, the physical strength needed for the extraction is minimal whilst with the traditional tool in some cases one operator alone cannot extract the probe himself which can lead to physical injury, especially when performing multiple measurements in a field day.
The novelin the case of this tool is the replacement of primitive mechanical tools for extraction, extending the possible number of measurements using and reduction of the amount of force needed for extraction. Extraction tool is 3D printed of PET-G material in the laboratories of the Department of Geology and Geological Engineering on University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering.
