The purpose of this indicator is to test conductors for the presence of voltage without removing the insulation in order to create a galvanic contact. Due to the influence of the electric field, after placing the top part of the indicator near an energized conductor and pressing the button on the device, the LED will light up, telling us that the conductor is ‘live’.
