Our new concept of a total constrained elbow implant is based on the shape memory effect of TiNi alloy, that allows the components to self-assemble by the action of human body temperature. An important advantage of our design is the assembly made of just two components, in metal on metal version, or four components when bushing polymeric components are used. A more reliable behavior is envisioned by avoiding a supplementary hinge mechanism.
