JourneyGuard AI – Lost-Item Recovery and Scam Protection for Travelers

JourneyGuard AI helps travelers recover lost belongings and verify recovery contacts safely in unfamiliar places. When a user reports a lost item, the system asks memory-guiding questions to reconstruct a last-use timeline and identify possible locations. It extracts visual and descriptive features-including color, material, shape, brand, and distinctive marks-from the owner’s input and available found-item records. These features are converted into semantic embeddings and compared using cosine similarity to rank potential matches, even when different descriptions use related terms, such as “red” and “burgundy.” AI-generated follow-up questions support human verification rather than making automatic ownership decisions. If someone claims to have found the item, the system analyzes the message for urgent payment requests, OTPs, QR-code transfers, missing case details, and inconsistencies with the incident record. It then guides the traveler to verify the contact through an independent official channel and avoid secondary fraud.
