Composite material based on glass ionomer cement and phytosynthesized metallic nanoparticles with improved antimicrobial properties and procedure for obtaining

The present invention refers to a composite material with improved antimicrobial properties, without negatively affecting the physical and mechanical properties, intended for use in dental applications, consisting of aluminofluorosilicate glass with a particle size below 45 μm, the liquid component of the glass ionomer cement and a solution of phytosynthesized metallic nanoparticles in extracts of plants from the Lamiaceae family with crystallite size below 25 nm, the process of obtaining the composite material consisting of three stages, the phytosynthesis of metallic nanoparticles, followed by mixing with aluminofluorosilicate glass until complete homogenization, and in that of in the third stage, the liquid component of the glass ionomer cement is added.
