I came up with the idea for the production of this project after my girlfriend searched for offers on small bathroom cosmetic refrigerators so that she could store the necessary cosmetics and medicines in it. Such products – various plant-based creams, lotions, probiotics, serums such as retinol and vitamin C should be kept at a temperature below 10 degrees Celsius and protected from moisture and UV radiation. For the above reasons, people usually keep such products in the kitchen fridge or bathroom. Storing such cosmetics in the kitchen refrigerator is very impractical, as such products are usually used immediately after showering, while keeping these products in the bathroom leads to premature spoilage of cosmetics and medicines due to inadequate temperature, humidity and often UV radiation. The type of product I offer is a built-in bathroom cosmetic refrigerator. The refrigerator uses electricity (12 volts), which requires minimal energy consumption. The internal space of the refrigerator is 30x30x20 cm and has a two-zone cooling system – one part of the device maintains a temperature of 5 to 10 degrees, while the other maintains a temperature of 10 to 20 degrees. The idea of a two-zone cooling system arose because of the different needs of different cosmetics and medicines. The refrigerator also has a dehumidification system so that it simultaneously protects the stored products from moisture and UV radiation. The device is made of natural materials (wood, glass, metal) that can be recycled and, unlike other refrigerators on the market, does not use gas as a working active substance.
