Since mosquitoes breed in water—and water is used for irrigation—this innovation prevents that process. The automatic irrigation system incorporating a mosquito-control agent consists of two slim housings containing an Arduino and a breadboard, two pumps, a sensor, and a laptop running software that controls the dosing of the mosquito-control agent into the water tank. The operating principle is simple to manage. One tank holds the mosquito-control agent and a pump that dispenses the liquid into the water tank based on a timer. The liquids mix within the water tank, and a pump then delivers the mixture to the plant’s soil based on moisture levels detected by the soil sensor.
