Enantiomerically pure dimethylphosphinoyl analogues of fotemustine, the active substance of a chemotherapy drug, were obtained for the first time. It was established that the key stage of synthesis, asymmetric addition of dimethylphosphine oxide to sulfinilimines, is realized in the presence of titanium tetraisopropoxide by stereoselective mechanism – Re-face attack.
