Marinetek designed and produced the first innovative, more durable and environmentally friendly composite pontoon as part of the “ECo marina – Development of innovative blue technologies for marine superstructure” project.
It is about prototype production for 3 models:
- Premier Composite Pontoon CPE series 3300 (lengths 12, 16m and 20m),
- Breakwater Composite CBRK series 4300 (lengths 16m and 20m),
- All concrete composite CAC series 2400 (lengths 9, 12 and 15 m).
They are designed to last from 75 years to 100 years. The new product was developed with an innovative combination of concrete and composite reinforcements – a combination of carbon rods and mesh impregnated with epoxy resin arranged to ensure maximum strength and reduce the use of concrete compared to traditional products.
The new innovative structure will provide longevity without losing quality, reliability, safety and aesthetic standards.
About 15% less concrete and 20% less cement will be used to make the new pontoon elements, which will reduce CO2 emissions.
