A device that allows a microcontroller to control stepper motors separately from the processor clock rhythm. The internal architecture of the driver allows for a sequential execution of instructions., The microcontroller inputs data about step count, direction and speed. The data is inputted through a combination of serial and parallel communication. The driver has interrupt pins for force-stopping the rotation of the motors. The control is realised via asynchronous digital electronics generated with the FPGA integrated circuit.
